The Egyptian Satellite Co. Nilesat was established in 1996, for the purpose of operating Direct-To-Home (DTH) Broadcasting Satellites and their associated ground control and up-linking facilities.

Historical Background

  The Egyptian satellite company Nilesat was established in July 1996.

Nilesat 101 was launched on Arian 4 from the French Guyana in April 1998.

Nilesat has two ground stations to control and fix the satellite in its orbital position:
                The primary station: in 6th of October City.
The backup station: in El-Hammam City (Alexandria)

Issued: 100 million US$
Increased to: 170 million US$
